Interview with talented artist J. Payne

Today on our Hot Seat we have J. Payne with us. Let’s have a chat with him.

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
J. Payne :

Hello everyone my name is J. Payne!

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
J. Payne : My mother use to sing all the time when I was a kid! She would come home late after a hard day of work and cook us food. While she cooked and made sure we did our homework she would also be singing at the same time. She’s a huge inspiration in my artistry!

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release U.C.C.M?
J. Payne : I wrote U.C.C.M about 2 years ago. I remember being in the studio with Nic thinking how crazy it is that I live in la! I’m from a small city by way of Columbia SC. LA was such a big place to me at the time! Nic Bradly really put his tunes in the hook which gave it the life we were both looking for! It’s just a song slightly describing my early stay in LA.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
J. Payne : Everyone that hears the track loves it! We put some visuals with it a couple months ago! It’s certainly gaining traction since being released!

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
J. Payne : That’s a really good question! I can’t imagine myself not being in a studio! I work this day job that I hate and live in the studio at night. But performing makes me feel alive! I just zone out and see myself in an empty room just vibing to my music.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
J. Payne : I love forms of music. R&B RAP JAZZ COUNTRY SOFT ROCK POP EDM! I’m a big Music head!

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
J. Payne : I’m always setting goals. You have to be a goal setter in this industry. It’s just another way to maintain the focus.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
J. Payne : New music is in the works. I’m working on a couple of R&B projects right now. Something I’m very excited about.
