Interview with The Music Business School owner Dominique Blais
Twist Online : First of please introduce yourself to our readers?
Dominique : My name is Dominique Blais. I have been working in the music industry for over 30 years now, having participated as a musician in several studio sessions and North American tours. I became a music business consultant and educator specializing in entertainment back in 2003.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to launch The Music Business School?
Dominique : The main idea was to reach as many people as possible. The Internet is undoubtedly the best way to achieve this goal. The inspiration for opening an online school came directly from the request of my many students and clients.
Twist Online : What kind of courses you are offering ?
Dominique : The topics of our courses vary according to the requests of our students. Whether it’s music publishing, concert production or other, our courses are perfectly suited to musicians who want to learn at their own pace, from the comfort of their home, or while touring. Our instructors are all working music industry professionals. We are proud to have recently welcomed Steve Pageot (Grammy winner for his work with Aretha Franklin) to our team of Instructors. He will be mainly involved in courses dedicated to music production.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received so far?
Dominique : Our students are very happy with this new music business online school and they share the news mostly via social media. So we have an increasing number of subscribers every day!
Twist Online : Your services are limited to some specific region or genre?
Dominique : We are available worldwide and open 24/7. Anyone interested can register at any time. There are no prerequisites.
Twist Online : You will be awarding some certificate at the completion of course?
Dominique : Not for now, but we plan on offering some certificate of completion for some specific courses before the end of the year.
Twist Online : What are your future goals?
Dominique : My main goal is to develop a successful online platform that provides quality and affordable education for artists and musicians who are eager to succeed in the music industry.
