Twist Online : First of all, please introduce yourself to our readers.
Wright Way Jay : Well first and foremost I would like to thank you for this opportunity I greatly appreciate it and I go by Wright Way Jay
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Wright Way Jay : To Wright Way Jay the who part of your question I would have to say artist such as the late great nipsey hussle kendrick Lamar j Cole big krit meek mill Rick Ross Jay z and diddy
Now the what part of your question now this… very interesting you see music is very very therapeutic for me I go through many perils in my life and through my music I can release how I feel with no interruptions but also looking at it from a business standpoint knowing that being in the industry can create multiple avenues of revenue if done correctly that can be used to create jobs and bring a great change into the lives of the people closest to me and also I can be a beacon of light to ones who are in darkness
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release?
Wright Way Jay : My most recent ah yes that would be my music video that you can find on YouTube called The Regime/Clearer Vision we shot the video in Charleston South Carolina which is a beautiful city by the way the response on the street while shooting was absolutely stupendous minus the security guard who kicked us off the roof top we didn’t know it was government property sorry but other than that we had a great time shooting and it came fantastic and I hope people enjoy watching it as much as my team and I enjoyed making it
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Wright Way Jay : The response has been overwhelming to say the least from all the comments and likes I’m so.. ecstatic about the response to my music video and my music catalog so far especially with me making a conscious decision to not use any profanity or use of the N word in my songs and to see people responding with such positivity its really giving me the energy I need to continue I can feel the momentum building and it’s only a matter of time
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Wright Way Jay : I so enjoy being around the people and getting that energy off them when the music is playing and I’m seeing there reactions and it does something to me like a shockwave you know but its something about being in the studio and creating theses songs that does something to my soul because being that the music comes out of me it’s a real intimate moment when you’re expressing how you feel with no judgment now some may know others may not know but there’s a real science to making good music and you have to be able to find that balance between expressing yourself and taking those expressions and putting them to a beat when it comes to creating top tier music
Twist Online : Tell us about your upcoming shows.
Wright Way Jay : At this point time I’m really focused on my finishing up my debut mixtape Timeless music Vol.1 and there are still some business affairs that have to be straighten out but once everything is completely squared away there will definitely be shows to follow and speaking of follow how can I forget you can follow me on Instagram @wrightwayjay to stay up to date on show dates
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Wright Way Jay : Absolutely i have many but here’s a couple one of my goals is be a job creator and really help bring a change to my community and bring honor to my family you know its funny my cousin called me up and said “Jay you gotta make this family great again” so I have to be the one who is able to provide a better way for my circle of love ones to live and thrive in this society And my second is to put out the greatest music that will stand the test of time I want my music my message my energy to be immortalize you see only the greats live long after they are gone
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Wright Way Jay : Yes I do have a mixtape on the way Timeless Music Vol.1 I feel very confident in the music I put a lot of time and effort into and side note being that i love Lo-Fi music so you are definitely going to hear it on this mixtape but also I really was able to release how I felt about so many things from my brother passing away to close friends going down a wrong road depression building wealth evolution it’s a roller coaster but you’ll get something from it trust me there are songs that will make you look at food from a different perspective there’s songs there where I had to examine myself literally you know but all in all it’s a great body work that im personally proud of this mixtape gives you an inside look at who Wright Way Jay is not only as a artist but as a person as well
