Interview with Zac from ‘The Promise Drive’ band

We recently interviewed The Promise Drive a Pop Punk/Emo band from the small town of Lagrange Georgia. The band’s vocalist Zac answered on behalf of the band.

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Zac :
My name is Zac, and I am the vocalist of The Promise Drive

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to launch the band ‘The Promise Drive’?
Zac :
This is going to be the most generic “Pop Punk kid” story ever, but after graduating highschool, I wasn’t really sure of what I wanted to do. I happened to run into my old friend Richard (guitarist) at my graduation, and he said he was wanting to start a pop punk band. We both loved MxPx, The Ataris, Drive Thru Records and Tooth and Nail Records, and knew we needed to do something to keep us occupied in our small town of Lagrange Ga. So to make a long story short, small towns, girl problems, and Mxpx are what pretty much inspired us to start TPD.

Twist Online : Our readers would like to know about the band members and their roles in the band?
Zac :
I sing, Richard plays guitar and backing vocals, Jacob on drums, Daisuke on bass and backing vocals, and Adam on guitar.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent projects?
Zac :
Our most recent project is a split EP we did with our Japanese friends Wait For Sunlight called “No Matter The Distance”. Both bands did 3 songs each, and up until a few months ago, was a Japanese only release. We are now in the process of writing a full length album, to hopefully be released early next year.

Twist Online : Working in studios or performing on stage, what do you enjoy more?
Zac :
Performing live for sure! There is just something special and even therapeutic, about getting on a stage, no matter if the audience is big or small, and just jumping around and having fun. It’s just an amazing feeling!

Twist Online : You have toured all over the US and also touring Japan from last 5 years. How was the response?
Zac :
It’s been a really good response! Japan has been super good to us. Every year we go, we notice more and more people coming to the shows, and it’s just been a blessing. We are truly amazed and thankful!!

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project or planning any tour?
Zac :
We have a new full length in the works, as well as an acoustic EP. We will be doing some West Coast dates in October with labelmates Wait For Sunlight(Japan), Heart Like War(California) and Green Eyed Monster(Japan), and some local acoustic shows coming up as well.
