Do you like Space? Stories and achievements related to space and universe attracts so many people. And in case you are a music lover who loves everything related to space, stars and universe beyond our reach, this album is surely for you.
Jesse James Allen is a former video game composer and sound designer on 53 well-known games across 14 years. His other contributions include work for museums and theme parks. Coming back to the album, the album is a dedication to the Cassini-Huygens Mission to Saturn that launched in 1997 and lasted for 20 years.
‘Cassini: A Musical tribute’ is a 15 track album, each track has something to say. You will love the way Jesse James has expressed his appreciation and love for this great mission. If you are a space lover you will understand the depth in these tracks. And even if you are mere a music lover the content is impressive from music aspects as well.
Being a music critic I will express my experience about the music aspect here (I have attraction for space since my childhood as well so couldn’t control my feelings and expressed my opinion about the space side a bit in the start 🙂 ) . Anyways, as I mentioned earlier, it’s 15 track album. That starts with Prelude.
Artist himself has told everything about this project that includes information on each track on a companion site to this project https://www.cassinitribute.com. So I would keep myself precise and keep this review to my experience and my favorite tracks from the album.
It’s actually pretty hard to take out any of these tracks from the favorite list. I liked around 7 tracks but as I always point out my 2 top tracks of any projects, so here we go.
Into the Asteroid Belt is the first in my list. The song starts with a melodious and engaging tone. Due to it’s ambient tone and heart touching voices, you will feel compelled to listen to the track. The track is based on April 2000: Crossing the vastest of space, Cassini ventures into the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The artist and successfully represented the vastness of space Cassini would have felt that day in the space.
The 2nd track that impressed me is the eleventh track ‘The Great Storm‘. The track is simply done and not overly complex. Based on the hurricane that came across Saturn in December 2010 and climate stayed like that for a year long. The chorus is impressive, the pitch range varies, making it rich and engaging. You can actually call it a storming music. The music suddenly storms into your ears and changes it’s tone gradually and captures your attentions and feeling. The song definitely is professional and creative. We find it extremely good and Jesse James Allen proved his versatility in a perfect way.
Overall the music, lyrics and production everything has been done exceptionally well in this album. Its a fun listening to the music and I am sure you would put it to repeat mode.
Album is released on all major platforms. You can buy/download this album through www.cassinitribute.com
