Kertasy talks about recent release ‘You See Me’

We are sharing our recent interview with hip hop artist

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Kertasy :
I go by the name of Kertasy, I’m an independent hip-hop recording artist from New Jersey. I’ve been writing my own songs since I 1st knew how to spell and put rhyming words together. I founded a way to build my buzz around my town thru being a club promoter building my name in the streets thru parties, building relationships with other promoters & DJ’s all while getting my music played in the clubs, passing and spreading my promo cards with my name and face on it all over the place. That good old fashion street promo you know? I started my own label, Lead Team Music Group & thru my come up I’ve tour and done a lot of shows as well as worked with some of y’all favorite artists in the industry. Opening up for some of the OGs like Lil Kim, Eve & Juelz Santana to new generation acts like Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Honey C & others. I recently did my 1st oversea show out in Paris where I was received very well and have been requested to come back for more dates which will be announced soon this year 2019.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Kertasy :
As far back as I can remember, music, specifically hip-hop & R&B was something I genuinely grew a liken for and fell in love with to the point I wanted to create my own where I can express my feelings and thoughts. But some of the few artists that inspired that extra push in me to really be a an artist were Biggie, Fabolous, Jay-Z & Lil Wayne.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release?
Kertasy :
My recent release is my new music video “You See Me” shot & directed by Jay Rodriguez of Itchy House Films. It’s the 1st single off my new EP I’m planning to release this year. So this video is the perfect way to express how I’m coming and the energy I’m planning to bring this year moving forward.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Kertasy :
The response been great! The video has a story line to it that will keep your attention glued from the beginning to end. And I got to show my acting side which I been getting a lot of great reviews on from people who were surprise how well and believable my acting was in the video. I always did tell people when I pop with this music I’m def knocking on Hollywood’s door cause I got too much character in me to go to waste, lol.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Kertasy :
Performing on stage definitely attracts me more especially seeing how my music excites a room full of strangers whos enjoying something I created from scratch.

Twist Online : Tell us about your upcoming shows.
Kertasy :
Well I just performed at a big event for NYC fashion week & I’m currently preparing for my show in Austin, Texas for SXSW. Also I will be announcing a few overseas date for my “You See Me Tour” put together by Mor.Bookings Agency. Shout out to Scott!

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Kertasy :
Most definitely. I plan on dropping a lot more visuals, 1 for every single I release leading up to my project. Also push my Lead Team brand to next level with the music, clothing & marketing all around.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Kertasy :
I do have a complete project done but Im a wait till I premiere my “You See Me” video on BET Jams 1st to build a bigger buzz, followed with 2 more singles with visuals. Then when I feel the buzz is a lil more where I need the awareness to be, then I’m a drop my project on em. Everything is well thought out and planned with me and my roll out. Just know everyone will appreciate the time I took and thought I put into my music overall..
