Let’s meet a talented young artist Tyler Colt

We are sharing here our recent interview with the artist Tyler Colt.

Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your music career?
Tyler Colt :  Started playing guitar when I was 5 yrs old, Started writing songs when I had a girl in my life that touched my heart.
Then I happen to meet up with another cool writer, and we started writing some songs together.
The first song I released on iTunes was Aug.3, 2015 and it was a little more Pop then I’d like.  But since then I’ve continued to write songs from the heart or life experiences. I’m only 17 yrs old so I still have a lot of livin to do.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you as an artist growing up?
Tyler Colt : I loved Jimi Hendrix and wrote a report about him when I was 8 yrs old. Both he and Slash were big influences on my guitar playing. I wanted to be just as “bad ass” as them. I got my style of music from the Foo Fighters & Green Day. I love rock n roll, punk, alt rock music, it’s what my Dad & Mom listen to and I guess I was exposed to that type of music more.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “Come Home“?
Tyler Colt : It’s a fun song, anthem type song, not about anyone in particular. I’m starting to put a more rock vibe in my songs, that’s where I really wanna be. The song “Come Home” was fun to jam to, I wanted people to feel good when they listened to that song. It’s should get you in a great mood & pumped up. When it came to making the music video I wanted to do something really fun. That people my age can relate to, kind of superhero mindless entertainment.

Twist Online : What kind of response your song is receiving?
Tyler Colt : The response has been amazing with this song. My fans really love it and it’s really kickin some serious butt. It’s the highest viewed music video I have done this far. I hope it continues to be loved. There’s no greater feeling then when someone loves your song and is singing along to it.

Twist Online : You recently played at the Whisky-agogo in Hollywood. You must have enjoyed the experience?
Tyler Colt : The Whiskya-gogo is an iconic playground that all the great artists from past & present have played. I love that place. The vibe in the room is so energized and amazing. I was so thankful to have been able to grace the same stage as so many of the rock legends that I admire today. It’s an intimate place too, you can see the faces of most of the people, cause there right up to the stage in front of you. It’s an awesome experience.

Twist Online : What do you enjoy more performing live or working in studios?
Tyler Colt : Performing live for sure!  It’s a feeling that’s hard to put into words. The love, support and energy of the crowd is what makes it all worth while. They sing along with you and make you feel empowered. It’s a drug I really wish I could bottle. Pure joy & adrenaline rush, the fans are pumped up almost as much as I am.

Twist Online : What’s your music genre?
Tyler Colt : I’d like to say it’s Rock/Alt if there is such a thing. I have influences of Green Day, Foo Fighters a little Breaking Benjiman. I like the rock feel with a little of the edge, which I think is the Alternative sound.

Twist Online : What are your future goals as a music artist?
Tyler Colt : I want to continue to write songs, record my music in the studio and continue to tour regionally. I want to go to college, so I believe I’ll study music. Not sure where yet. I love playing music and writing music & performing. So I hope I can continue to  do it all.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new projects?
Tyler Colt : I have a few new songs I’m working on, some I need to finish writing, the others I need to get into the studio to put down tracks.
I’m still performing at local events in So Cal. on the weekends and after school. Trying to make it all fit in and work, it’s challenging at times but for the most part it’s do-able. Once I get the songs down on tracks I can release an album because I’ll have a good amount of material.
