Lets Meet A Vastly Experienced Artist ‘My Bro Jamal’

Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your music career?
My Bro Jamal : First started playing piano when I was in 4th grade. Then in High School started playing with Indie, and post-hardcore bands. I didn’t start hip-hop/rap until college.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you as an artist growing up?
My Bro Jamal : Kid Cudi. He is the main reason why I branched out to rapping. He was revolutionary in music and helped with obtaining my style in hip-hop.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “Not The One”?
My Bro Jamal : “Not The One” is my latest single. I went through a lot of relationships this past year and it inspired the new single.

Twist Online : What do you enjoy more, performing live or working in studios on your music?
My Bro Jamal : I like working in studios more. When I write songs I hear the lyrics in my head on repeat. When I finally record my voice on a track, it is like a new sound is born. It is interesting to see where it goes from there.

Twist Online : Any particular reason for becoming a rapper? Why not any other music genre?
My Bro Jamal : Rapping has unlimited possibilities with flows and I like to create new ones.

Twist Online : What are your future goals as a music artist?
My Bro Jamal : I want to start being heard! I feel I kept my music in the shadows for years and now it is time to show everyone. Another goal is to start touring, which has been my dream since a kid.

Twist Online : Do you produce your own songs only or you have produced for others as well?
My Bro Jamal : I produce some of my beats and I use other producer’s beats as well.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new projects?
My Bro Jamal : Yes, I am working on my new project “Act On Instinct”.

Twist Online : Are you active on social media? How you can be followed?
My Bro Jamal : I am now starting to be on social media. Never been into it, but I am starting to get used to it. I can be followed on Facebook, Soundcloud, and twitter.
