Lets meet upcoming pop artist “Lerumo”

We recently interviewed a talented young pop artist “Lerumo” . His recently released music video “infectious” has been getting appreciation. That’s our conversation with him.

Twist Online : First Tell us a little about the starting of your music career.

Lerumo : It was a cool situation. I always loved music since I was little L… the little man! Ha ha…I live and breathe it. At 13 I started messing around freestyling and writing songs and had a huge passion for it. My real friends told me “dude if you honestly keep going and never give up, you can be a superstar in like five years.”

They said, “where we come from, no one makes it to become something, I want to see someone I personally know do something huge and if it’s anyone it’s definitely you!” I said “man…that was deep”, so I kept with it. Now it’s all paying off.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent music video “infectious”.

Lerumo : Infectious was the single from my latest EP release. I self wrote / produced it and it felt smooth. Going into the process was tricky because I was hard on myself on how people would resonate with it. I believe in myself so much though now that I can be confident in what I put out because I know just because person doesn’t like it, doesn’t mean that 50 others wont.

Twist Online : Your video “Unwritten Words” is getting popular. What’s the theme of this video?

Lerumo : Thank you, the theme of the video is about the aftermath of a breaking relationship where the couple is still in love but things aren’t working. I’m on the road dedicating my life to my music and my girl couldn’t see the end from the beginning. That it takes all of me to have the ending be sweet. She burned up the will I left her and couldn’t take everything that came with my career. I tried to make it work and it just didn’t happen.

Twist Online : Are you inspired of someone in music industry?

Lerumo : Yes, so many people, it’d be hard to name all of them. I listen to everything from R&B to indie to dance music, and variations of house. I’d say a few of the artists would be Pharrell Williams, Johnny Kemp, Gwen Stefani, The 1975, Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Usher, Justin Bieber, Timberlake, Beyoncé, Akon, Foxes (uk), Hernameisbanks, Taio Cruz, Daughter, JLS, Missy Elliot, Jason Derulo, Anna Marie (uk), JoJo, Ciara, Jennifer Lopez, the list goes on. For producers I’d say Cory Rooney, Vincent Herbert, 8-Bit (Rob Fusari), Vinay, Rodney Jerkins, Timbaland, The Futuristics, Mike Posner, Max Martin, RedOne, Denniz Pop, Felix Snow, Benny Blanco, Blackbear, Michael Blumstein, Cook Classics, Calvin Harris, Diplo, Pop Wansel, Deemoney, MNEK, Jimmy Joker, Maejor Ali. I hope to work with them all some point in my career someday. They all have that golden touch.

Twist Online : What’s your music genre? Any particular reason?

Lerumo : It’s pop. It’s just what I’m super in love with. But since I like different genres I just blend them into my own wave. I call it “loft pop” because it’ll take a higher mindset to get it. Something up there, I guess it could be a new genre. I plan on bringing the fun back to commercial music and adding a twist no one expects.

Twist Online : You are getting offers from labels recently. Have you signed up with any of them?

Lerumo : Yes I am, and I haven’t yet. My agent is working together to help me choose the best option.

Twist Online : What’s your goal in life you want to achieve next?

Lerumo : I want to travel the world and genuinely help people. What would be fun about success if you don’t share it? It’s important to be self-less. If you got helped to be where you are, why not continue the train?

Twist Online : Any new project you are working on? When it will be released?

Lerumo : I have a few singles I’m about to start working on / have been working on. I really paused to raise the bar for all the next content that’ll come out soon. The next level takes a higher work ethic and expansion of what you know. Progression is key.

Twist Online : Are you on Social Media? Your fans would love to follow you.

Lerumo : Yes I am. Hey fans! You can follow me on Instagram and Twitter at the handle @iamLerumo , subscribe to me on YouTube, and check out https://www.Lerumo.com where everything is posted!
