Meet the passionate and inspiring ‘Rio 24K’

Today in our interview section we have ‘Rio 24K’. An artist, who is very passionate about whatever he do, whether it’s music or his life.

Twist Online: Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Rio 24K: I’m “Rio 24K” born and raised in Miami, Florida. I’m the youngest of my mother’s five kids.  Most importantly, I am a father to my son and an unapologetic Christian. I’ve been rapping for some time now looking to do my part in bringing back consciousness and reality back to hip-hop.

Twist Online: Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Rio 24K: My older brothers introduced music into my life and I’ve been a fan ever since the age 6. The inspiration that led to me making music myself was the ability to make a difference by having a voice that connects with people and brings about a positive change.

Twist Online: Tell us about your projects “Flashing Lights” “The Beauty of Freedom”?
Rio 24K: Prior to the release of “Flashing Lights” I used to go by the name Cash Carter.  I rapped about the typical things a Southern rapper rapped about in the music.  But life happened and I was eventually led to the word.  And after I discovered and accepted the word I walked away from my prior lifestyle.  I initially gave up music but after prayer and reflection decided that God gave a gift and it would be a waste not to share it with the world.  So “Flashing Lights” for me was letting people know that this is who I was and how with the grace of God I was able to make that transition from that lifestyle to trying to make a positive difference.

“Beauty Of Freedom” is me letting the world know that I have the freedom in my life to be who I want to be and do what I want to do without worrying about the critics. That I am a Christian who can hang with old friends without trying to be like them.

Twist Online: What kind of response they have received?
Rio 24K: The responses I received have been incredible. I’m humbled by the fact that so many people hear my music and are touched by how authentic and real it is. I like to say that I am very unapologetically Christian and people appreciate me for it because it’s just who I am.

Twist Online: What changed came into your music after converting to Christianity?
Rio 24K: The change that came from me was the fact that before I was a Christian I played like I had that perfect life when I made music. I acted like all the other rappers stretching the truth or living a lie all together. Now as a Christian, I feel more comfortable just keeping it real with the fans. I let them know that I’m flawed.  I am Christian but sometimes I want to smoke weed, or I still have problems with people but try to turn the other check while keeping in check the side of me that wants to address every issue the old way.  In a sense, the fans are witnessing my attempt at sanctification before their eyes through my music.

Twist Online: Are you influenced by any particular music genre?
Rio 24K: I listen to everything so yeah Hip Hop, Gospel, Rock, Old School R&B, Contemporary Music.

Twist Online: Have you set some goals to achieve as a music artist?
Rio 24K: My goal are to make music my full time career. I want to expand my brand from music into something that promotes positivity and self-empowerment in my community. I plan to start touring across the country to get the message heard.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Rio 24K : Yes, I’m working on a new project I’ve entitled “The Son of Jesse.” That is just my way of saying I’m like King David. A man looking to do good but falling short and being an imperfect person. In the mean time, I am looking to release a project before the release of “The Son of Jesse.”
