Multi-talented Jason Valentine talks about his recent projects
The man who can do it all will be the man who will have it all. It is a very fitting quote for Jason Valentine. The twenty-eight-year-old artist is a jack of all trades when it comes to the music industry, and never stays away from a challenge. From producing the records and writing the lyrics all the way down to mastering the songs and directing the videos, there is not a single thing Valentine is afraid to shy away from. We are sharing our interview with Jason a.k.a jvmusic.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
jvmusic : Hey I’m Jason Valentine also known as jvmusic, I am a producer and recording artist. Music is medicine to my soul and I believe it is for the world as well.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
jvmusic : I was surrounded by music at a very your age, I remember music playing every day as a young kid that’s what made me join choir at school. In general I was a very hands on creative kid but when I was in high school I found that outside of Videos, Games and Drawing, music was the only real outlet that I could really go beyond the general limitations with. The first time I made a beat and realise it didn’t sound like anything I’ve heard before I instantly got the urge to write vocals. Because at that time I was deep into poetry and it turned into a rap song. From there I just started working on different things, and along the way hearing artists like Bjork, Kid Kudy, Kanye, Sia helped me to really start experimenting with sound more.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release ?
jvmusic : My recent release is my first official release in the music marketplace, it is a song called LVL and it features a dope artist named Kyle Bent. The song is really about people who see you doing things and see it as valueless or so different that they think you’re strange. All my life people have called me weird and different but I love it because that means I am me and just like the song state they don’t understand the levels that I’m moving on. A lot of people don’t get to live the way I live and be involved in the things I’m involved in so it’s only natural they can’t relate to my moves. LVL is a theme song for the “Different” people lol.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
jvmusic : It’s crazy because when the song came out I was in limbo waiting to see how it would go over and once the DM’s started rolling in it felt good because the feedback I got some people they got what the song was about and some they came up with their own meaning which was dope, over all the numbers it pulling in is pleasing and for my first release it got a lot of love!
Twist Online : What attracts you more, Working in studios or performing on stage?
jvmusic : To be honest, working in the studio attracts me more the only reason I say that is because in those moments I can create and put out projects. I always say to my friends if I could be in a studio 24hrs a day just working on projects I would because then I could take months and months just doing shows and performing.
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
jvmusic : The best part about being an artist to me is that you could express things that words can’t, with your music. You could legit be affecting another person in way you never knew with your music and I love that no matter what language you speak music truly is universal.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
jvmusic : For sure, 2020 is going to be the year I focus on just putting music out the entire year, I use to get involved in a lot of side projects and stuff but this year is dedicated to me releasing music and working on features.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
jvmusic : Yes it’s called MMXX it will be dropping in January.
