Music Engineer ChevvvyChase talks about his passion for music
T0day on our Hot Seat we have music engineer ChevvvyChase with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your music career.
ChevvvyChase : 2013 I was just free-styling for fun and it was really terrible but I loved having all eyes on me. Then later through high school I went by “yung bubble” I really wasn’t doing shit that serious at all but one of my songs got like 10k streams on soundcloud “iNEED” and I was like wow this shit is dope maybe it could be something..Till I got arrested then took a long break doing anything that serious. 2019 came around got put on to Goodsound317 then everything in me clicked. Left them started doing shit on my own, figured out how to do the business side of music and now I do shows, sign artist, and distribute all my music.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
ChevvvyChase : Really no one I just thought it’d be tight to do something different than everyone. I didn’t want to goto college or get a dead-end job that Id hate. Music has been may passion.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent projects?
ChevvvyChase : I dropped a mixtape on soundcloud called “Error 317” and a album on all platforms “Studio Vibes” a few singles as well which you can find on all platforms.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received so far?
ChevvvyChase :When I started making music back in 2013 I was trash so I wasn’t taken seriously because I dint take it serious. Now that Ive made this my career and I chase it I get a lot of positive reviews. My flow, sound, and beats are all different from anyone in the midwest right now.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, Working in studios or performing on stage?
ChevvvyChase : Its really tough because they’re two different vibes. Studio its chill and relaxed, then performing is a rush that you can’t ever create unless you’re on that stage. If I had to choose it’d be on stage tho.
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music Engineer?
ChevvvyChase : Just being creative and trying to come up with an original sound that clicks with an audience for sure. Also I love seeing other artist liking what I do with their songs and send more people my way.
Twist Online : What was the motive behind launching your own label KEYimage Records?
ChevvvyChase : I have my own home studio and Ive been seeing a lot of talent around me, and been record other artist and Ive been signed before so I know how the industry works and decided to take others under my brand and help get them heard.
Twist Online : How many artists you have signed so far and what about their projects?
ChevvvyChase : I have 5 artist on my roster right now. FluSensei and Air McCarthy both have projects coming soon and will be on the next upcoming shows KEYimage does. JayD will be dropping his first song next month. Others TBA
