
Natalie Jean talks about her latest track “The Letting Go”
Natalie Jean is an award winning singer, songwriter, performer and a dynamic artist. We recently interviewed here about her recent track “The Letting Go”.
Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Natalie Jean : I grew up in a household of musicians. My father, Guy R. Jean, is a famous Haitian Singer. I knew that I always wanted to do something in music. While living in New York many years ago, I wrote over 50 songs and decided to do a demo of three of those songs. I sent it out to many places. A group contacted me and the rest is history. I had bumps and bruises along the way, but I am in a better place musically.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Natalie Jean : I would say that it is my love of helping others that truly brought me to the music industry. I like to see when people resonate with a song or the expressions they get after hearing one of my songs.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “The Letting Go“?
Natalie Jean : I contacted my co-writer Michael Peloso about writing a love song as a duet. So he came up with some lyrics and I added the finishing touches. I then contacted Levi Moore, an up and coming Country artist to perform the song with me. My producer Alexi Von Guggenberg recorded the song in his studio in Alexandria, VA.
Twist Online : What was the inspiration behind writing this track?
Natalie Jean : The song is about being to let go of anything really to move on to the future. Whether you move on with your partner, or you can choose to set yourself free and move on to the next adventure.
Twist Online : You must be delighted with the kind of response it has received?
Natalie Jean : Yes, I am. It has garnered some great reviews and received a lot of airplay. It has won two awards. Best Americana Song in the Spring 2018 Clouzine International Music Awards and Silver Medal in the Global Music Awards for Country song. It has also been nominated in the Atlas Elite Entertainment Music Awards for Country Song.
Twist Online : What’s your opinion what was the key factor behind the success of this track, the lyrics or the vocals?
Natalie Jean : I think that because it was a team effort, it was a combination of everything. I think that the lyrics speak to what everyone is going through and the vocals express that in a great way.
Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
Natalie Jean : I just want to make a great music. I don’t really stick to one genre anymore. I would like to help feel and move their soul.
