We are sharing here our recent interview with Ray William Roldan.

Twist Online : Please introduce yourself to the readers and how and when did you first get into Music Industry?
Ray William Roldan : Howdy, My name is Ray William Roldan and I entered this industry as a band member in a few different bands R&R ETC, Swing Samurai, Broke Fence. But didn’t really start song writing until I was in my late 30’s.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you as an artist growing up?
Ray William Roldan : I came from a show biz family on my moms side, Were my Grandfather was a drummer and artist and my Grandmother was a dancer, singer and musician.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent single “Elevator Song” ?
Ray William Roldan : It’s a song I started a couple of years ago and put to tape last year. It’s about the repeating life cycle that can happen in some families. Can be a good thing but can also be a disastrous thing to. It’s kind of like being’ reincarnated without dying’! Sin’s of the father kind of situation.

Twist Online : You love classic songs. Who is your favorite classic singer?
Ray William Roldan : Merle Haggard, George Jones, Leon Russel, Elvis and on and on! Dont have one favorite singer.

Twist Online : When it comes to songwriting, is there an ideal environment for you??
Ray William Roldan : I write any where and everywhere. I have a studio in the hills of Topanga, Ca. and I’ve written 50 songs in the past year and a half and that’s doing it part time. A lot of great songs have been written in these hills. But hell! I can and will write anywhere.

Twist Online : Do you see inspiration in everyday things in life?
Ray William Roldan : Life is a constant source of inspiration, the good and the bad and the beautiful.

Twist Online : What do you like more singing or songwriting?
Ray William Roldan : My family of course! Especially my Love and muse ( who is my fiance’) Lauryn.
