Phoenix O’Neill impresses with her new EP “Out Of The Ashes”

We recently got chance to listen to the EP “Out Of The Ashes” by Phoenix O’Neill. It was so impressive and highly professional that our first preference was to share our experience here with our readers.

For those who are not yet introduced with Phoenix O’Neill, she is a 23-year-old indie pop singer-songwriter based in Watford, North London. Last year, her amazing voice and her intricate, dark songs caught the interest of producer James Sanger, best known for his work with Dido, Keane, Siobhan Donaghy and Brian Eno. Since then, James has teamed up with Paul Kilmister to form “SangMister Music” through which they have been developing Phoenix’ unique, haunting and hypnotic sound.

And here comes now the EP “Out Of The Ashes” a collection of some exciting tracks.

Even though all the tracks are nicely done but a couple of the tracks from the EP forced us to listen to them on repeat so we would like to mention those here as well. The track “I need you” and “Cruel World”. Both these tracks are heart touching, with lyrics near to reality. The track “I need you” is starts with a melodious and engaging tone. You will feel compelled to listen to the track. The singer has a dynamic and inspiring voice and it has a strong vocal projection. The video of this track is nicely directed and produced as well.

The other track we mentioned “Cruel World” is equally good. The track is simply done and not overly complex. The chorus is impressive, the pitch range varies, making it rich and engaging. The song definitely is professional and creative. We find it extremely good and the singer has talent and the music, lyrics and production everything has been done exceptionally well in this track.

Overall its a fun listening to the music and this EP as a whole is a success.  And I am sure you would put it to repeat mode.
