Today on our Hot Seat we have Rapture with us. Let’s have a chat with him.

Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Rapture : My name is AJ Nessfield and my stage name is Rapture. I am a 22 year old rapper who was born and raised in Loughborough.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Rapture : I was actually helped out by a few underground artists, unlike most rappers I was inspired mostly by Indie artists and seeing them accomplish things I always wanted to do was the stepping stone for me actually taking my first steps as a recording Artist. I’m not going to be the one who says “it was all eminem” although I was a fan!

Twist Online : Tell us about your recent project Carved in Stone?
Rapture : I’ve made a lot of songs since I started recording, however I have been out of the studio for a long time and I always said I would release an album when I am confident I could put my 100% into it. Now that time has finally come for me and I can focus on my album.

Carved in Stone is a mixture of my old aggressive rap style, a slight blend of modern rap, a few EDM vibes and a whole range of story-telling lyrics inspired by my own journeys in life.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Rapture : After releasing the first 3 tracks and announcing the album release the response has been phenomenal.
The first track “Madness” received great feedback from labels all around Europe and was definitely the song that made me decide it was time to create the album. Although I have been quiet to my existing listener base for quite some time I am very confident this album will have Raptures name “Carved in Stone”.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Rapture : I love performing, but I have still spent more hours in the studio recording, mixing and mastering music. I hope one day my performing hours outweigh the studio time though and the hard work will all pay off.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Rapture : EDM and dubstep are actually my favorite types of music, but I have always listened to almost any kind of genre. I am known for going from one extreme to the other when I like a song.. My playlists are crazy! I believe it was a shock when I
collaborated with iNexus for the first time in “The Showdown” because it was so far away from my rap music. It turned out great though!

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Rapture : It is just an absolute blessing to have enough time to finally work on this album. My main goal is to bring everything I have learned up to now into this and really create something memorable, while still staying in a completely different league from other modern rappers.
