Rick Habana talks about his track ‘Coast’
Today on our Hot Seat we have music producer and artist Rick Habana with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Rick Habana : I am a Music Producer/Smooth Jazz artist from Los Angeles with many years of experience behind the scenes working on the Music Licensing side of things for various television networks domestically and internationally. I have been fortunate to meet a lot of great musicians and singers from around the world and more recently have decided to release some of my music to the public.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Rick Habana : I was inspired to get into music at a young age. My father is a musician and would always have other musicians over our home to jam. I fell in love right away with instruments and equipment, music and recording has been a part of my life since.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release?
Rick Habana : My first release “Coast” is a fresh blend of Funk, R&B and Smooth Jazz. The song is inspired by my travels in 2018 and I wanted the song and video to have a feel good, enjoying life kind of feel. There are lots of live instruments from Sax, Guitar and bass. I also have an amazing young singer/songwriter on the song named Kahlil. I have worked with him now for about a year and I knew once I released my first song that he would be the one I would have featured on it. We tried to make sure to give the song a modern feel but still made sure to keep those organic elements in there.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Rick Habana : The type of response we have received thus far has been really cool. Even though the song just released a couple days ago we like how the song seems to be something different then the norm.
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Rick Habana : I do not have a favorite but my go to’s are Smooth Jazz, Hip Hop/R&B, Deep House and a little tropical music.
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music artist?
Rick Habana : I am addicted to recording equipment. Nothing is better than getting a new toy.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Rick Habana : My goal is to one day be in charge of the Music Supervision on a film.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Rick Habana : I have just finished a couple more tracks that I will be releasing in the near future.
