Rubayne talks about his first solo release. “The Come Up”
Today on our Hot Seat we have an up and coming music artist Rubayne with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
Rubayne : Well, For Rubayne, it started about 9 months ago. Before that I used to make music and played shows with a friend of me when i was younger (17). We later teamed up with another friend who goes under the name of lukas vane. After these phases, 4 years later, I started to produce the music i was really into; progressive and bass-house.
But in the past few months, I felt like I want to expand my musical horizon and started to focus on electronic music
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Rubayne : The person/artist that inspired me the most is Zedd. To me he is a musical prodigy and he still motivates me to make music. In addition, there was period in my teenage years where I thought that I can make a positive impact on people with my music. I felt that i could link my music to a certain feeling or emotion, in combination with sharing the music with a huge audience.
This moment still motivates me everyday to get out and do what I like to do
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release “The Come Up Ft. Cam James “?
Rubayne : This track is my first solo release and has a lot of value for me. I was used to making house music and was never curious to change that. The inspiration for this track, and mainly for the piano melody, came after I watched the movie Interstellar. It helped me making the perfect piece for a new Rubayne track
Once it was done, I immediately thought of putting a rapper on this track. But I did not want to put a ‘money cars b*tches’ rapper on this hahaha. That’s where I met Cam James, an inspirational rapper with an inspirational voice. This was exactly what I needed.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Rubayne : It has only been released for a short time at the moment. However, on soundcloud I have seen that there were some big EDM platforms that already supported it. With that, I got a lot of nice responses from friends and other producers. At the moment I am pretty satisfied with the reactions and there are more to come.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Rubayne : This is a hard Twist Online for me. I am surely into music making and every new idea that comes in mind makes me so hyped when I work on it. But sharing that music on stage and playing it for an audience is something I loved to do. It a really good feeling if your audience is digging your show/dj set. So for now I think that I prefer performing on stage.
Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Rubayne : I don’t really have a favorite music genre. I can get my inspiration for new music out of a lot of different genres. I mostly listen to the electronic styles (house, future bass)and hip-hop , but depending on my mood I also listen to RnB, Dubstep, Rock and Jazz
Twist Online : Have you set some target to achieve as a music artist?
Rubayne : I will do my very best to get my music heard by a lot of people worldwide. With that, i hope that they will get positively attached to my music. It is a goal for me to tour all over the world, sharing my music with a huge audience in an energetic set. There are a lot of interesting steps in between, but the main vision is there.
Twist Online : Are you currently working on any other project?
Rubayne : I have only a few new projects going on now and I really take my time to make the most out of my upcoming tracks. I think you can expect a new track of me somehwere in April!
